A great way to start the new year is by taking a good hard looking at all your habits within the last year and start to look at how you can make small changes that will have a dramatic effect on your general life. Below I have shared 5 tips on how you can kick start your healthy year!
If you have been suffering lately feeling stressed, tired, unwell and anxious you need to continue reading. I want to help you stop feeling this way and start feeling energized and healthy again when you wake up.
1. Healthy Eating
What you put in your body has a huge effect on how you feel within your self. I have always been one who would pick a chocolate bar over a banana. But I have found that going into adulthood my body doesn’t respond to that ad-hoc type of lifestyle as much as it used to. I recently had a massive wake up call getting scanned for antioxidants I was lower on the scale than my mum and it showed how stressed, unwell and tired my body was. I decided to make a change and that meant upping my intake of fruit and veg.
Fruit with high antioxidants in –
Cranberries, peaches, raspberries, strawberries, red currants, figs, cherries, pears, oranges, apricots, mango, and watermelon.
Vegetables with high antioxidants in –
Broccoli, spinach, carrots, potatoes, cabbage, asparagus, avocados, beetroot, radish, lettuce, sweet potatoes, and squash.

2. Creating a healthy gut
Looking after your stomach and creating a healthy environment inside your body is just as important as feeding yourself fruit and veg. If you do not have a healthy environment your body will not take in as many nutrients from the goodness you are putting inside of you.
Free radicals are attacking our body every day and this causes oxidative stress to our cells. This, therefore, means we need to add antioxidants to our diets to help protect our cells from damage. One of the main sources that can help you protect your cells is green tea extract which helps protect cells from oxidative stress.
If you are like me and do not like green tea or are not a big green tea drinker then this is just the answer for you.
One capsule is 100 x more effective than Vitamin C and 25 x more effective than Vitamin E and they include no Caffeine!

There has been a lot of studies that link stomach problems to anxiety and as someone who struggles with anxiety, I know how my body can react to certain foods if it is not feeling great. Tegreen has helped me feel less stressed and less bloated and therefore less anxious. This has then helped me sleep a lot better and feel more in tune with my body.

3. Regular exercise
If you are like me exercise does not come easily you probably sighed as you saw the heading. I have resisted exercise for years, and never thought it was that important. Until I realized how much it helps clear my mind. But not just that by exercising regularly can have a huge effect on how much it helps your body to work more efficiently.
The key to exercise it getting into a routine, a routine can help you stay consistent and makes you less likely to tell yourself you will go tomorrow. Now I’m not talking about going to the gym 5 times a week, that is my goal but I am nowhere near getting to that point. If you try to go 5 days a week when you are used to not going at all you will quickly give up as it will seem too hard and too different from your current habits.
I conducted a survey on my Instagram (if you don’t follow me come say hi!) asking you guys how often you go to the gym and the majority of you said 2-3 times a week. Which is exactly my goal on how many times I would like to be down the gym a week.
If going to the gym seems too daunting to start with I would suggest doing other types of exercise like swimming or going for a walk. These types of regular exercise can still help you clear your head and get your heart rate rising.
4. Cutting out alcohol
Now as someone who likes a glass of prosecco or two I know how hard this can be. But alcohol can have a huge effect on our health if we have more than recommended units. As someone who has anxiety, I know how alcohol can affect me after having a big night out. My body will not be right for days after binge drinking it is almost like iv drank poison and I will feel restless for days.
Alcohol such as wine also has a lot of sugar which can have huge effects on your weight. This is why reducing your alcohol intake this year will help your body respond better to the other small health habits you can make. By creating small habits will help create a positive compound effect on your health.
By starting to take these small conscious efforts to reduce your alcohol intake you will start to have the energy to start working on the key areas of your life that will benefit you like your business or blog.
5. Drinking more water
Water is not only important for plants to grow you know 🌱
Drinking more water will result in you becoming more hydrated and therefore helping your brain to develop, not just that but it will also help your organs keep working in an orderly fashion. Keep your toxins in your body by flushing them out by consuming a decent amount of water a day.
If you find yourself becoming tired within the day after working your brain hard. Grab a glass of water because it is more likely you are hydrated.
When exercising it is important to keep hydrated because you have to regulate your body temperature and lubricate your joints. If you are not keeping your body hydrated you will not perform to your highest level.
So that is my 5 tips on how to become more healthy this year. By making small changes around your current life you can start to feel more energized and feel like you can enjoy life a little bit more. But making those changes will not help if you currently have a very unhealthy body. My biggest tip is to start investing in protecting your cells to help you sleep better, reduce your anxiety and create a healthy gut with a supplement that helps protect your cells in your body.
